About me~

Hello, I’m Zara Halabu, a senior at Immaculata La Salle High School in Miami, FL. Sports and business have always been my driving passions, shaping my journey and sparking my entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. Back in elementary school, I proudly held the title of state champion gymnast, showcasing not just my athleticism but also a deep-seated competitive spirit.

As I transitioned to high school, volleyball became my game of choice, and I’ve been on the court ever since. But it’s not just about the physical aspect; I see sports as a dynamic arena where business and competition intersect. My mother is Brazilian, so naturally, I’m also a soccer junkie!

My entrepreneurial journey began in elementary school when I started selling slime to my classmates. In middle school, I ventured into tie-dye shirts, expanding my repertoire. Currently enrolled in the Business and Leadership STEAM Program, I’m diving into the strategic and leadership aspects of the corporate world, eager to merge my love for sports with a solid understanding of business.

What drives me now is my latest project. I’ve noticed the significant underrepresentation of women in the sports industry, and it’s something I want to learn more about. I’m on a mission to document my journey as I attempt to interview women working in this male-dominated field. Through my research, interviews, and documentation, I’m gaining insights into the challenges and opportunities these women face.

I believe that highlighting on the experiences of women in sport industry is not just about highlighting a disparity but also about paving the way for my own future. It’s an exciting venture that combines my passions, and I hope it inspires others to see the potential for change when we bring our interests and concerns together.

I hope you enjoy!!
