Please describe your role & responsibilities at that position?

Planning and executing benefits that lead to the year over year support of our season ticket members.

What did you study in college and how did your educational background shape your career in the sports industry?

I have a unique path that did not include education that was easily applied to sports. I studied Biology with the plan to start a career in dentistry. I worked in sports on the side because I enjoyed it, and ultimately pivoted my career plan when I knew that it was what I wanted to do every day.

Can you share the key milestones in your career that led you to your current position in the sports industry?

Pursuing service in multiple leagues:
-Matchday roles in the NFL and MLB that introduced me to the roles and potentials in sports business.

-Group Service role in MLB that allowed me to understand additional ticketing business.

-Ticket Service role in NFL to understand PSLs and contract negotiation

What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as a woman in the sports business, & how have you overcome them?

I have been lucky to have strong female leaders that I have respected in each role that I have been in. Continuing to grow so that I can offer that to the next girl in line is something I strive to do every day.

Balancing a career is demanding. How do you manage a work-life balance? What strategies have worked well for you?

Understanding what my priorities are in both my work life and my personal life has helped me create balance. Proactive planning and communication has been crucial in balancing my professional responsibilities especially as I have 2 children at home.

How important is mentorship for women in the sports industry? Have you had mentors or role models who played a significant role in your career and can give some details?

I would say mentors as well as advocates are important as a woman in sports, especially at the beginning of career path decision making. Knowing what avenues others have taken, and what a path might look like for you is easier to think through when you have women to support your thought process. My first true mentor, Estee (Arend) Hemphill, truly helped me see how my future in sports might look. Having a female leader who can encourage, while also challenge, truly shaped my decision to pursue a career in sports.

In a male-dominated industry, do you feel women are given equal opportunities? What steps do you think can be taken to promote gender equality in the sports industry?

The men that I have had the pleasure to work with have been my biggest cheerleaders. They have always encouraged out of the box ideas that impact not just my area of business, but theirs as well. Having the right men and women in leadership to promote a culture of equality and respect will continue to promote the growth of gender equality in sports.

What aspects of your work in the sports industry do you enjoy the most? What parts do you find the most challenging ?

I work in sports because I love the people. I love our fans, I love my teammates, and I love the ability to make people smile in a field that is not a necessity. Challenges, especially in service, are ever changing. But that’s what makes our role so exciting- each day is a new opportunity that offers exciting chances to create innovative solutions.

What advice do you have for young women aspiring to build a successful career in the sports industry?

Buckle Up- success is a grind that includes commitment to a bigger purpose, but the outcome is rewarding if you are willing to put the work in to persevere.

What is your long-term personal goal that you still want to achieve both business wise and personal?

To continue to build and not become stagnant. Our members deserve to feel a part of what we do, and as they change in their personal lives we should be able to create an experience that grows and changes with them.

I also want to be present for my children as they grow up. Coaching team, attending school events, and having dinner with them as frequently as possible will always be important as I manage my time across all facets of life.

Any fun facts or interesting things you’d like the world to learn about you? Favorite food, hobbies, pet peeves, etc.?

My favorite food is chicken and waffles.
I have two sons, Elijah who is 2 years old and Isaac who is 6 months old.
My biggest pet peeve is being late.
